Do you want to add technology into your lessons, but are unsure of how to begin? Are you being pushed by your administrators to add more technology into your lessons, but need a few pointers in how? Well then, you have come to the right place! Integrating technology into a classroom is more than just substituting it for a piece of paper and pencil. Technology can be very effective in the learning process, if only implemented in thoughtful ways. In this course, we will be focusing on how to implement iPads into an elementary classroom.

Course Overview

By the end of this course learners will be able to answer the following questions:

  • What is an iPad?
  • How are iPads beneficial to student learning?
  • What apps are considered appropriate for your students learning needs?
  • How do I create an activity that effectively integrates iPads into the classroom?

The main goal for this course is that you to create and implement more lessons and activities that effectively integrate iPads into the elementary classroom.

This course is organized into four units. Throughout the course, you will be asked to:

  • Watch instructional videos
  • Read through informational text
  • Review diagrams
  • Reflect on your learning
  • Add ideas/questions to the course corkboard

Before we begin, let’s go over a few things that we will need.
