Unit One: Why do we use technology in the classroom?

Learning Objective

Learners will describe the need for technology in the classroom by identifying 3 random and 3 QR code ways in which technology can be used to enhance the learning experience in the classroom.

Unit Overview and Expectations

This unit will expose you to different ways in which technology can be used in the classroom. The course materials should be utilized within your forum discussions and to support your reflections. You are not required to utilize ALL of the course materials.

In this section, your voice and opinion are very important. Course materials should be reviewed with an open mind, but you may find that you disagree with some or all of the information. If this is the case, please use outside sources to support your counter argument against the information you disagree with.

Your goal should be to start constructing your own philosophy on how you will use technology in your classroom. This will help you in later units when you are developing your lesson plan, and reviewing the lesson plans of your peers.

The final assignment for this unit is meant to get you started on your QR code journey. Although, you do not have to create a QR code as of yet, the course materials make reference to the use of QR codes in the classroom. Have fun with this assignment and explore your creativity. This will help set the tone for the rest of the coursework which will challenge you to be methodical, reflective and creative in your lesson plan development approach.
