Introduction

Now that you have the bones of your unit, it's time to flesh it out with activities that will enable students to transfer genre analysis skills to other genres and writing tasks. In this unit you will review the concept of generalizable language, design opportunities to model genre analysis through the mentor text, and craft activities to encourage transfer.
