Overview and Purpose

The purpose of this course is to educate and provide resources to teachers who are interested in play-based learning. In this course you will learn about what exactly play-based learning is, how it can benefit your classroom, and how to implement it into your everyday instruction. My goal is for learners in this course to have an understanding of play-based learning and feel confident in implementing play-based learning into their classroom.

This course is a fully online course that is meant to teach educators about play-based learning and how to incorporate it into their classrooms. You may engage in this course at your own leisure and have the ability to revisit areas of this course as often as you see fit. The course is designed to give you as the learner time to reflect on your own thoughts and how the information fits into your own classroom setting.

Needs Assessment

Play based learning is an incredible educational opportunity for teachers to utilize in their classrooms. Play-based learning is an opportunity to present knowledge to students through the world of play. This can be extremely beneficial because it will be engaging for students and allows for them to make real world and personal connections to content during the process of hands on learning.

-Learner will know the misconceptions surrounding play-based learning, along with the challenges that come with play-based learning, but also how to handle these challenges..
