The Professional Lyndsay
I am a perm sub at Bowling Green Elementary School on Long Island, NY. I can be in a general education classroom today and a special education classroom tomorrow. I can be a kindergarten teacher in the AM and a music teacher in the PM. It always makes for an interesting day. I am also a graduate assistant at SUNY Old Westbury. I assist in the design and the implementation of the Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder on Old Westbury's campus. I am also a graduate student at UAlabny working towards an MS in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology.
The Personal Lyndsay
As if I'm not busy enough, I am also a wife and mother. My daughter, Kennedy is 17 and my son, AJ is 4. Although raising a teenage girl and a toddler boy is challenging, it also keeps life exciting. My husband is a correction officer at the Nassau County Sheriff's Department and works nights. We are often like passing ships in the night. With busy and conflicting schedules, it is hard to do things as a family. We try to fit in a day once per month where we can all do something together, even if it's just watching a movie at home. We all love animals and have a cat named Ming Ming, a black labrador named Onixx, and several fish!
