My name is Kristen Savastano. I am a high school mathmatics teacher in a public school in the Hudson Valley. I primarily teach geometry, but also teach an algebra II course as well as SAT preparation. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics: Adolescent Education from SUNY Cortland. I also have a Master's degree in Literacy grades 5-12 from SUNY New Paltz. I am now working on a Master's degree in Curriculum Design and Instructional technology from SUNY Albany.
I would like my WIKI to focus on making connections between topics in the geometry classroom. So often in math, topics are introduced in a isolated fashion. True understanding of the curriculum happens when students see connections between the topics they are learning in mathematics.
