Greetings and salutations all,
My name is Galen Fellows, I am 26 years old and I live in Mexico, NY. I teach 7th grade physical science and regents physics in a small district ~ 20 minutes south of Watertown. This marks the beginning of my third year of teaching and the second semester of courses that I will take in the CDIT program.
I'm very excited to start to be able to better use contemporary science teaching methodologies into my layered curriculum for my Physics class as well as begin to use it to develop a layered curriculum for my 7th grade squirrels.
I was born in Naples, NY (finger lakes region) and went to SUNY Brockport majoring in Physics and getting my initial certification in education. My wife and I moved to the Syracuse area to be between our families and we quickly realized we weren't cut out for suburban living to settle in a town twice the size of where we had grown up (I graduated with 75 kids in high school).
When I'm not developing lessons and building demos for my classroom I consider myself to be an eclectic individual, both in hobbies and taste in music. I love spending time with my wife of 3 years and our rescue-shelter dog, working on our house, landscaping, playing video, board and card games, swimming, kayaking, and whatever else strikes our fancy.
I can't wait to get to work with and learn from all of you over the next few months.
