My biographical information

In December of 2012 I graduated from SUNY Delhi where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Business & Information Technology Management. Previously, I attended the Utica School of Commerce and attained an Associate's degree in Business Administration. I am currently working as an Assistive Technology Specialist for Linda Weinberg, Access and Equity Coordinator at SUNY Delhi. During my senior year at SUNY Delhi I was given the opportunity to complete an internship for the Access and Equity Office. This was when I became quite interested in working with students with disabilities and Assistive Technology. In this position I work with students with disabilities, directly assisting them with any of their technology needs.

I have learned how to evaluate new technologies to ensure information and computing systems are remaining accessible to persons with disabilities in a dynamic and evolving technology environment at SUNY Delhi. As the technology field continues to grow, it is important that students with disabilities have access and equity in learning. I am continuously looking for knowledge in emerging technology and new developments in assistive technology.

My goal is to expand/ utilize my knowledge and provide strategic guidance in assistive technology and web accessibility to professionals, employers, or individuals with disabilities, and to ensure students with disabilities are provided access and equity throughout their educational experience.

This is my first course as a graduate student at SUNY Albany. I believe the Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology (CDIT) Master's Program will help me to educate colleagues and future technologists of the importance of instructional design and accessibility for all.
