Unit 2: How Can I Use the Mathematician's Plan in My Classroom?
This unit's objectives are:
- Participants will analyze student thinking behind each step of the Mathematician’s Plan
- Participants will analyze student work in order to identify the area of the Mathematician’s Plan in which the student struggled in
Lesson 1: Student Thinking Behind Each Step
This lesson will further dissect the thinking involved in each step of The Mathematician’s Plan. Participants will take the time to analyze each step in the Mathematician’s Plan to better understand why it is important and how it helps learners solve math problems.
Lesson 2: Analyzing Student Samples
This lesson will focus mostly on the application of the Mathematician’s Plan to analyze student work. Participants will be given the opportunity to connect student samples to the Mathematician’s Plan and the struggles that students may be experiencing.
