What to Expect

This course is an interactive way for teachers/instructors to learn more about instructional technology they can use to boost their teaching methods and their lessons.

In this course we will build a Technology Toolbox and learn all about not only the benefits of using instructional technology... but also how to use them in lessons in order to engage students to benefit their learning.

Participants will go through resources and learn the topic from each unit and complete mini-assignment at the end of each unit.

Why Do I Need This?

The COVID-19 Pandemic made a lot of educators and instructors realize just how many platform of instructional technology there are to help and engage student learning.

Teaching math, in particular, has increasingly become a struggle when trying to build a Technology Toolbox that will help to engage and increase student learning as we step into the future of technology and learning.

Who is This For?

This mini-course is for any educators/ teachers who wish to learn more about Instructional Technology and its importance in the educational field. Participants will walk out of this course with the skills to incorporate instructional technology into their classroom and better their students' educational experiences.

What Will I Be Able To Do?

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the importance of instructional technology in the classroom.
  • Identify multiple different instructional platforms.
  • Create their own lessons using their Technology Toolbox.

Course Units

Throughout this mini-course participants will learn about and how to implement instructional technology in the educational field.

Unit 1: Introduction to Technology Toolbox

This unit will introduce participants to Instructional technology as well as notify the participants of what is expected of them throughout the course.

Unit 2: Instructional Technology In the Math Classroom

Participants will learn why Instructional Technology is important in today's educational society with a focus in mathematics education.

Unit 3: How to Incorporate Instructional Technology

Participants will learn how to incorporate Instructional Technology into lessons of their own.
