Needs Assessment

From KNILT

1. Problem - Using technology in the classroom, whether in elementary or secondary school, is an expectation in the curricula of just about every grade level. Some teachers are at a loss as to how to do this.

2. Target Learners - Teachers and Staff Developers

2. What is to be learned - This course will ease the anxiety which many teachers experience when they are not comfortable with the many ways of using Microsoft Power Point 2007.

3. Goal - No matter what your comfort level is when it comes to using technology, my goal is to show you how to engage students to integrate technology across all curriculum with Microsoft Power Point.

4. Prior Concept - You will need to have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Point 2007. It would also be advantageous to have worked on an interactive whiteboard prior to this course, although this is not a requirement.

5. Skills - Keyboarding skills, proficiency in internet usage and knowledge of how to access and download clipart, sound effects and videos. Knowledge of conversion of files would be helpful but not a requirement.

6. Attitudes - My goal in teaching you this course is to help you to think of ways to create innovative and enaging lessons for your students. If you get excited about seeing your students excited about learning, then this course is perfect for you.
