Lesson 1: Implementation to Your Content

From KNILT

Using the ideas generated by classmates in our shared Google Doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iwo8_qx_z9uXsT0Nq-_egm7uMCplEwRofmRcfvJLGXE/edit?usp=sharing), create your own informal lesson plan using at least one strengths-based instructional strategy in your discipline on a piece of notebook paper or Google Doc!

Some ideas to think about are:

  • Using a community connection to arrange for students in Social Studies to get a private tour of a local museum
  • Heading outside to have students identify plants of various invasive species in science class
  • Inviting an alumni student to class to speak to students about their current career and how they got there

Once you've drafted an informal lesson plan, let's conclude our learning in the last lesson of the mini-course: Lesson 2: Looking Forward.
