COURSE OVERVIEW

The Arts can be an amazing tool to help students connect with content in a new way. Often this work is collaborative and creates an emotional bond with the material as students steps inside the content. This may sound daunting to anyone who does not have a background in the Arts, however once you have begun to incorporate this valuable strategy into your classroom, I hope you will see the benefits for you and your students. This course is designed to inspire you and help you discover how to use Arts Integration in your classroom. You will find that it is not as daunting as it may seem. Let's get started!

PREREQUISITES FOR THIS COURSE:

  • In order to participate in this course you need to be self motivated. I would encourage you to take this course with a friend or colleague (or both!). That way you can discuss your thoughts and ideas as the course progresses. This has been shown to be a critical practice in connecting with content.
  • You will need to have access to an internet connection and a computer with word processing software.
  • Ideally you are also teaching in your own classroom so you can try out what you have learned in the course.
