Overview and Purpose

The purpose of this course is to help educators learn about artificial intelligence and help them become more comfortable with integrating into their curriculum. With the novelty of AI, it is imperative to provide educators with knowledge of how to effectively integrate it into their curriculums and utilize it to support student learning. By focusing on what AI is, the affordances and challenges that it provides, what tools are available to educators, how to utilize AI responsibility, and creating lessons that implement AI, this course course looks to prepare educators for a future where education is driven by AI. Needs Assessment
The opportunity and challenge that this course addresses is preparing educators to tackle a relatively new technology that is disrupting the field of education. AI tools are currently being used by educators of all grade-levels and disciplines. Though AI is already being integrated into classrooms, professional development opportunities to help educators further understand the potential of AI is lacking. This course aims to provide that guidance to teachers by providing a base on which they can build further knowledge of AI and how to integrate it into their curriculums.
