Benefits of Storyboarding for Online Learning Course

Author:Brittany Westcott

Online education is becoming ongoing and is continuing to grow around the world. As technology continues to advance, so too does the level of communication, difficulty, and variety of multimedia elements. These essentials are involved in online courses and design. It is now time for course developers to look towards processes of attracting their instructional design in order to take into account these changes. Simple notes on paper no longer depict the needed elements of the online course development process. Storyboards are a resource to graphical representations to the layout, organization, content, and relation of information within multimedia online learning experiences. This mini course will describe the benefits of storyboarding in an online instruction environment. I have so many ideas in my mind concerning how I utilize and develop storyboards that I feel confident that I will leave some things out. Still, I hope that the information that you learn from this course will be most useful in helping you create your own storyboards. Remember that one of my most important beliefs in using storyboarding is trouble-free. We need to focus on what is most necessary in order to make the time used most efficient while still providing educational benefit to our final projects.

This course is created to teach you all about the benefits of storyboard. By participating in each unit you will learn what it is and how it is a significant classroom resource because of its multiple purposes. You will also learn how to create your own storyboards so that you can integrate them into the curriculum.
