In order to integrate technology into our lessons we need to consider the NYS learning standards for technology. Although many of our students have exposure to computer systems at home, many do not and the only experience they have may be in school. The more opportunities we provide the more computer literate our students will become.
Read the article "Why Integrate Technology into the Curriculum?: The Reasons Are Many" One important point it states is that "Effective tech integration must happen across the curriculum in ways that research shows deepen and enhance the learning process." GoAnimate as we have learned is one of many tools available to make learning more interesting and engaging. There is a video link as well outlining a High School in Mississippi that is worth looking at but not a requirement for this lesson. When lesson planning consider your subject area, a way to get ideas for other uses for GoAnimate is to search their site. When you search use key words that may draw out animations. Below is an example of a search I conducted, I wanted to see what animations there were on cell theory, so I began with searching "Cells".
