Objective
- Given a video tutorial and steps on how to create and use Desmos, educators will complete a nine question survey assessing their understanding of the online game at the end of this unit.
Introduction
Desmos is an interactive online tool that promotes discovery learning both independently and collaboratively, depending on the chosen activity. Students join in at the same time and are randomly paired with another student from class. They must work together to ask and answer questions in order to get to their desired outcome. This website deals with a lot of writing out responses and problem-solving.
How to Use
1. Go to https://www.desmos.com/ and create an account
2. In the search bar, search for a topic you are teaching. Click "Create Class Code."
3. Find your class code under the "History" tab and share it with students to join.
4. Students work either independently or with each other to answer questions, and the teacher may view their responses.
