Unit at a Glance

In this Unit, you will explore ways to minimize distractions while teaching students in a virtual setting. Regardless of grade level, capturing the attention of students can be challenging. In the world today distractions are ubiquitous. Students have always been surrounded by distractors, however, the effect of those distractors have been amplified due to trauma and change resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.
In this Unit you will rely on you exploring the material listed under Learning Activity. After you have completed the reading, you construct in writing a learning environment (real or imagined) that incorporates 5 elements described in the texts. You will recording your writing using the link found in the Questions section.

Think about it

If you were a student in 2020 what strategies would you use to be successful during the pandemic? How would you cope with the stress of school and the world changing around you? How might you explicitly teach those strategies to your students?
