Unit 2: Educational Background

Now that students have an understanding of how to choose a career and what a career is they now need to understand how to get to that career. What are the steps they need to take to have this career that are willing to work for? After completing the online questionare they were to choose one career of interest and print out the information on that career. Now is the time to have them look very clsely at that information to find what education they may need for that specific career. This lesson is meant to take two 42 minute class periods, one of which will be spent either in the computer lab or with a mobile lab with interenet access.


  • Students will understand the different options for education
  • Students will understand diferent degree otions
  • Students will be able to list the educational opportunites for after high school

Use the link below to have students go through the powerpoint. This is a self-paced activity. Students at this point should already have an idea of the career they may be interested in and what it would take to get into that career. Be sure students are paying close attention on what they may need for the career that they may be interested in.
