Feedback is an important part of the learning process. Learners rely on a variety of forms of feedback whether it is a verbal or written statement about an activity or project or simply a visual cue in response to progress.  Often times, instructors focus on one specific form of feedback and therefore don’t consider many different kinds that could contribute to learner success or don’t realize that they may be using them in instruction.  

The website below offers information on three different types of feedback and discusses how each is used within the music education setting.  Please click on the link below, read through the introduction and each of the tabs to become familiar on each kind of feedback discussed.  Although much of the discussion centers on feedback in relation to music performance, the various types can be useful for listening and music analysis as well.  This site also explains how each type can be sequenced.
