Thanks for your feedback, Samantha.  I actually went back and forth whether to link the reading or post it in its (lengthy) entirety on the page. Someone mentioned that they preferred the article being right there, easy access, but it does seem to overwhelm the page.  I am willing to do whatever seems best for visual appeal and ease of the lesson.

Your intro page is clear and explains the course objectives well. I did not include objectives in my Intro section and think this is a great idea. The introductory video is interesting and a good way to kick off the course.

In Lesson 1, the inspirational Ray Lewis photo and quote illustrated the topic well.  I appreciate that you pasted the entire article but visually it is a lot to digest. Perhaps, you could summarize and provide a link or file for the whole article?

Thanks for viewing my page Alicia! Under the directions for activity 2 is a link to a discussion page for students to write their responses to the reading.  I am definitely going to link the reading instead of uploading the entire thing, it is a bit overwhelming for the page. Thanks for the advice!

I LOVE your mini-course. You have obviously put a lot of though and effort into this project. It is so visually appealing. The course has fantastic ease of navigation. The sections are well defined and I liked how the heading font changed colors in different lessons. You utilize a wide variety of media, which I think makes the most of the wiki space. The interactive activities were engaging and I thought it was so relevant to the point of your topic. The positive energy was being conveyed by all the text, graphics and media.

The scenarios you provided in Lesson 2/Activity 1 helped me contextualize the concept of recognition much more deeply.  It caused me to reflect on my own practice and how important the “pause, prompt and praise strategy’” is. Your activities and reflection are well designed. You provide rich instructional material and then pose questions that prompt critical thinking.

Lesson 3 had meaningful rubrics and checklists that address different disciplines and would apply to a wide audience. You also provide many valuable checklists for assessment and reflection. I was actually surprised that others did not take advantage of the wiki to supply more attachments. Also, I have to thank you for introducing me to Rubistar. What a great tool for generating rubrics!  I also really liked the infographic on feedback.

What I like/What worked well:

* Intro: course title, clear info about what to expect in course, nice picture, nice icons, clear clean layout, clear headings for each lesson, effective links

* Lesson 1: nice image, bold headings, information chunked, good resources, relevant meaningful discussion and quiz activities

What you might consider:

* Intro: I like your use of video, I encourage you to provide just a bit of text to link Marzano to the course. Drawing from a paragraph later on the page you might begin with a sentence like the topic of this mini-course is Reinforcing Effort and Providing Recognition which is Marzano's third instructional strategy for effective teaching and learning. To learn more before diving into the course check out this overview of all of Marzanos 9 strategies (link to video)
