Hi, everyone,

Welcome to my personal profile page. My name is Shoubang Jian. I am a doctoral student in Curriculum and Instruction, and I am taking ETAP 623 in Spring 2012. My project is to create a mini course on Barry Zimmerman's theory of Self-Regulated Learning. I hope this project will succeed, since empirical studies have shown that learner's self-regulation is key element to student success in learning, either face to face or online (blended) format.

For this course, I've developed a SRL meta-course, aiming for foster student's understanding and practice of SRL, and foster student's learning performance. In addition to this meta-course, I've also in mind (though not fully developed yet) a Learning Community meta-course. Meta-course is my terminology. It indicates that these meta-courses are like the vital organs of a living entity, whose function is to keep the entity alive and thriving.
