Note to the Learner: In order to perform actual notations on different documents, it is necessary to have a SMART Board, or else SMART Notebook will not allow you to do so. Fortunately, the steps are easy and the learner will be able to understand what to do when a SMART Board is present. This is a quick lesson to prepare you for the more complicated exercises you will experience as the course progresses.

Desktop annotations (or SMART Ink, as they call it) are useful when an instructor is attempting to explain or highlight something within a web page, image, Word document, etc. Annotation mode can be very useful, but also very tricky to manipulate. Watch the tutorial YouTube Video below to view what exactly you will do when you are in this particular situation.
