Note to the Learner: In order to perform actual notations on different documents, it is necessary to have a SMART Board, or else SMART Notebook will not allow you to do so. Fortunately, the steps are easy and the learner will be able to understand what to do when a SMART Board is present.
Desktop annotations (or SMART Ink, as they call it) are useful when an instructor is attempting to explain or highlight something within a web page, image, Word document, etc. Annotation mode can be very useful, but also very tricky to manipulate.
