Instructors design lessons, teach students, and assess student understanding on a daily basis, but how often do instructor's evaluate their own instruction? Evaluating instruction is a critical practice for any instructor to understand his or her personal biases, methods, tones, preferences, and other characteristics that may influence student learning. The problem with doing this is that self-evaluating instruction is not always an intuitive process and it can be difficult to integrate into regular teaching practices. This mini-course is going to provide interested participants with the opportunity to learn how to integrate reflective teaching practices in their instruction for the purpose of evaluating it.
