Introducing iBT TOEFL Speaking
Introduction
Why should English language learners take the TOEFL exam? The iBT TOEFL is the most widely used assessment in the world for English language proficiency. It is taken by over one million people each year and is used by over 130 countries and 8,000 institutions (Where are TOEFL scores accepted?). For students wanting to attend university in an English speaking country, success on the iBT TOEFL is usually a prerequisite. Consisting of four parts (speaking, writing, listening, reading), non-native English speakers often find the speaking section to be especially difficult. In this course we will concentrate on the skills you will need to do well on the SPEAKING portion of the test.
TOEFL Speaking Structure and Course Overview
The iBT TOEFL Speaking consists of two sections, independent and integrated. The independent portion consists of two tasks. On this section you will respond to the prompt based on your own experience and opinions. The second section, integrated speaking, consists of four tasks. On this part of the test you are expected to make your response based on reading passage and a related listening component. In this course we will look at each section in more detail.
