Title: Digital Storytelling Course

Abstract: This course was created to teach you all about Digital Storytelling. By participating in each unit you will learn what it is and how it is a significant classroom tool. You will also learn how to create digital stories so that you can incorporate them into the curriculum.

Course Objective: By the end of this course, you should be able to state what a digital story is, generate a list of ways that digital stories can be used in each subject area for your grade level, create a digital story that is appropriate for your grade level using Microsoft Photo Story, list the benefits of digital stories in all subject areas and facilitate the use of a digital story with your students.

Title: Simulations for Inquiry Course

Abstract: This mini-course is designed to give participants an authentic experience on how using a simple simulation of a natural phenomenon can help to create an inquiry-based classroom.

Course Objective: By the end of this course, participants will be able to understand the characteristics of inquiry-based learning, understand what simulations are, understand why simulations can be used for student inquiry, generate list of possible difficulties and learning supports when using simulations, and demonstrate how the use of simulations promotes inquiry by providing an example of the application of a simulation in a lesson on a natural event and any teacher facilitated supports required for its effective use.
