Course Goals

UNIT 1: What are virtual field trips?

Objectives: The learner will be able to identify the different types of virtual field trips.



BLINKING CURSOR: Explain with supporting details which two types of technology field trips you feel would best suit your classroom.

UNIT 2 Pros and Cons of traditional field trips to virtual field trips.

BLINKING CURSOR: Write a letter to an administrator justifying why time and money should be spent on a technology field trips.

UNIT 3: What do I need to access a technology field trip?

BLINKING CURSOR: Identify a program provider you would like to try. Perform at least one test connection using your equipment to that providers website.

UNIT 4: Characteristics of quality technology field trip programs.

BLINKING CURSOR: Compile a list of at least 5 technology field trips that align to teaching standards you will teach in the next 3 months.

UNIT 5: Connecting a lesson to a virtual field trip provider.

BLINKING CURSOR: Work with a another teacher in your grade level to a lesson that encompasses the use of at least one free virtual field trip out of your list of 5. The field trip will need to be implemented in the next 3 months.
