Title: Instant Screencasting: Quick and Basic Screen Capture for Online and Hybrid Instruction

Abstract: This course is about learning the purpose of video in the classroom, have an opportunity to create videos to familiarize themselves with the software and develop an understanding of their own reasons for using video in their classroom.

Course Objective: 1. Learners will be able to define what screencasting is; 2, Learners will be able to identify the purposes for using screencasting software in their instruction; 3, Learners will be asked to describe their own reasons for being interested in using screencasting software in their classroom; 4, Learners will be able to identify the capabilities and limitations of Jing, Screenr and Screencast-O-Matic; 5, Learners will be asked to describe which of these three (if any) screencasting will be best for their needs

Title: Digital Storytelling Course

Abstract: This course was created to teach you all about Digital Storytelling. By participating in each unit you will learn what it is and how it is a significant classroom tool. You will also learn how to create digital stories so that you can incorporate them into the curriculum.

Course Objective: By the end of this course, you should be able to state what a digital story is, generate a list of ways that digital stories can be used in each subject area for your grade level, create a digital story that is appropriate for your grade level using Microsoft Photo Story, list the benefits of digital stories in all subject areas and facilitate the use of a digital story with your students.

Title: Simulations for Inquiry Course

Abstract: This mini-course is designed to give participants an authentic experience on how using a simple simulation of a natural phenomenon can help to create an inquiry-based classroom.

Course Objective: By the end of this course, participants will be able to understand the characteristics of inquiry-based learning, understand what simulations are, understand why simulations can be used for student inquiry, generate list of possible difficulties and learning supports when using simulations, and demonstrate how the use of simulations promotes inquiry by providing an example of the application of a simulation in a lesson on a natural event and any teacher facilitated supports required for its effective use.

Course Objective: Students will be able to recognize resources in their daily interactions, adapt these resources for those unable to recognize them to decrease total work load in a group, observe interactions while absorbing useful information, communicate more clearly and thoroughly; transfer these skills to wholly new situations, discriminate amongst food cravings vs. nutritional needs; choose contentment of quality over quantity though variety; classify various food allergies and their symptoms; identify common over-reliance upon certain food selections; and demonstrate in action a properly balanced food selection.

Course Objective: By the completion of this course, you should be able to define computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL), demonstrate the ability to use web-based tools to support collaborative student writing, such as TitanPad (an easy to use wiki website), and analyze and evaluate the benefits of using collaborative activities to increase writing skills.

Title: Application of PB Works in the Classroom
