Differentiation in the form of Choice Boards within any discipline
Overview and Purpose
Introduction: "But do they really get it?", "are they able to apply the information in a different situation" are questions that all teachers are asking themselves multiple times every day. All leaners are different and learn differently. It is important to keep in mind that all students are different and learn different ways. A way to provide instruction to this piece of information is by providing an instructional tool with many activities that are differentiated. This instructional tool is called choice boards. Choices boards are exactly what they sound like, a board with different activities that the learner can choose from. These activities are created based upon your discipline and the topics that have been or be taught in the present.
This mini course My topic focuses on providing more differentiated learning opportunities in the classroom. The idea of differentiated materials allows for instruction to be provided in many different activities, instead of just learning by the traditional teacher run instruction. These activities are hands on, partner base ( students learn from each other) activities that practice skills that are being taught in the present as well as skills that have been taught.
