Using Scientific Phenomena For Science Teaching

Navigation Links:
Overview and Purpose
This course will be about identifying and using scientific phenomena for science teaching in the classroom. Phenomena allow for students to have a jumping off point as well as a central problem to solve. This style of teaching allows for students to practice working together to solve a common problem. It allows for students to develop real world skills to use wherever they go post graduation.
Needs Assessment
The modern scientific world is changing and changing fast. Now more than ever we need to prepare our students for careers in the STEAM field. If we are not making the curriculum fun and engaging on the secondary level they will not want to continue in post secondary education. Phenomena based learning provides opportunity for curiosity and interest to break through.
