Instructor comments on your topic and instructional analysis -- Jz833665 (talk) 11:26, 23 February 2015 (EST)

Your project is addressing a very interesting topic. Your needs and learner analysis is helpful and informative.

Re. your topic, the reference that you cite seems to focus on managing challenging behaviors. There are other references on brain-based learning that focus more on the deeper issues of learning process and classroom teaching: http://thesecondprinciple.com/optimal-learning/brainbased-education-an-overview/

Brain-based ed is broad topic, so you should selectively focus on a set of key ideas/strategies generated from this line of work, so your mini-course will not spread too broadly.

Instructor comments on your objectives -- Jianwei Zhang (talk) 14:32, 5 March 2015 (EST)

"After completing this course participants will be able to identify all aspects of Whole Brain Teaching and what it entails."

To "identify" (aspects) seems very basic in the level of outcomes. Do you want the participant to be able to explain how the key principles of Whole Brain Teaching can help create a productive classroom environment....???

-After completing this course participants will be able to create a lesson plan based of off Whole Brain Teaching.... for the purpose of....???

-After completing this course participants will be able to complete a self assessment based on their thoughts of Whole Brain Teaching.

Self assessment of ...to be conducted by...(whom)???

Instructor comments on your refined task analysis and unit-level performance objectives -- Jz833665 (talk) 18:30, 5 April 2015 (EDT)

Hi Caileigh, Your task analysis is helpful for you to develop a clear structure of this mini-course. You may further refine your unit level objectives created through the task analysis, focusing on clarifying what the learner is expected to be able to do after each unit.

Re. "End of Course Objectives: Participants will be able to incorporate Whole Brain teaching into their own lesson. Participants will be able to explain what Whole Brain Teaching entails. "

The course level objectives were stated a bit differently in your performance objectives section and in your map. You'd want to to give a consistent statement about your course's objectives.

Re. Performance Objectives: "Unit !: Prior Knowledge -Participants will take a short quiz on Whole Brain Teaching to see what prior knowledge they have. -Participants will be introduced to what Whole Brain Teaching is. "

As I highlighted in the video posted, the unit objectives should specify what you expect the learner to be able to do as the result of learning, not teaching or learning activities (take a quiz, introduce...)

"Unit 3:Lesson Plan ... -Participants will complete an evaluation on their thoughts about Whole Brain Teaching. " This is not clear to me. Do you mean evaluating their lesson plan focusing on whether it supports whole brain teaching?
