My name is Emily Marfilius, and I have been an elementary educator for 7 years. I have experience teaching in both first and third grade classrooms. I began teaching in a Quaker school in Philadelphia, then moved to a charter school in Shreveport, Louisiana, and now teach a public school district in Syracuse, New York. Each new teaching environment has shown me a broad spectrum of approaches to teaching and learning.
I graduated from Syracuse University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education. After being on the move for a few years, I am now settled in Syracuse and working on my masters degree in Curriculum Design and Instructional Technology at University at Albany.
