Arrowbullet.pngAs you begin your exploration of video games used for math instruction, you will find video games that are created for math classes as well as popular video games that are used for teaching. The following articles will expose you to some ways that video games are used for teaching.

Meyer (2015) gave an example of using Minecraft in an elementary math classroom. Gillispie, Martin, and Parker (2010) show that a game created for math, Dimension M, had a positive impact on student achievement.

Arrowbullet.pngExplore at least two video games that you could use for math instruction. I am providing you with a few links to get you started. Some video games have trial memberships and videos of game play. I have also provided you with a link to a game that I created for teaching polynomials, Alien Hijacking. Do a web search and find games that are not on the list. Play the games and have fun!
