General Overview Feedback

I think it would be beneficial if you were more specific to whom your mini-course is designed for. I am having trouble figuring out who your target learning audience is.

Your course was very well laid out and very user friendly. I had no trouble navigating through your course. However, I think it would be helpful if you linked your portfolio and your mini-course together. I can get from your mini-course to your portfolio page but there is not link to go from your portfolio page back to your mini-course.

Task Analysis

Professor Byrne gave me this feedback when she evaluated my mini course and I believe it would also be valuable to you, because I see your “Task Analysis” is empty. She stated the following:

“If you look at the ABCD model on p. 119 of our Streamlined ID text you will see a great format or template, for how to refine your learning objectives. This is a good "work out" for objectives building. The great reward...if you flush out your objectives using this template....you can then copy the activity items right into your "tasks area!"

I personally took each one of my objectives through ABCD Model to come up with my Task Analysis. Let me know if you have any questions on this part!

Mini Course

Introduction page:

I found it very helpful that under each unit you wrote a Module Description and the Module Objectives. I like that before I even go into the module I am prepared for what I am going to learn and what is expected of me.

References:

Looks like you did a great job citing all of your sources! Keep it up!

Unit 1:

Objectives:

1. Through practice, students will be able to identify the unique characteristics of adult learners. (How are they demonstrating this? How are you able to see students have met this objective?)

2. Through practice, students will be able to explain the difference between andragogy and pedagogy. (How are they demonstrating this? How are you able to see students have met this objective?)

I think you would benefit from looking at page 119 in our Streamlined ID text and taking your objectives through the ABCD Module. For example objective 1. Through practice, students will be able to identify the unique characteristics of adult learners. If you put this objective through the ABCD module you may come out with a clearer objective like,

Participants will be able to:

1. “Identify the unique characteristics of adult learners through the participation in the discussion with their classmates.

I think with just a discussion board it may be hard to asses if your students have met the desired learning outcomes for this unit. Maybe a more specific discussion question to match with your two objectives for this unit? Or maybe another activity that allows you to assess if your students are meeting the learning outcomes set for this unit…

Overall I believe you are off to a great start! I think you did a great job of making your course visually appealing by using charts, table, graphs etc… You are made your course appealing to people of all different learning styles! (Which I believe is one of your goals!)
