Introduction: Understanding Reflection: Using the Reflective Learning Journal

In this mini-course,educators will learn the concepts, the levels of reflection, and how to apply this to students thinking and learning. This course is useful for any discipline. Educators will also learn about the reflective learning journal as a useful learning strategy in the classroom or in the online learning environment.

Educators will be asked to complete an individual pre-test assessment/self-evaluation. From this pre-test, the course instructor is able to identify the target learners' characteristics.

Educators will learn about useful reflective learning strategies to facilitate student reflective thinking, learning, and problem-solving.

Mini-Course Learning Units

The learning units consist of: 4 sections. The Pre-Assessment is used to identify educators' background information. Unit 1, 2, and 3 consist of the course instructional content. The Post-Evaluation is used to assess what the educators' have learned and gained from this mini-course.
