Jim Flanders
ETAP 623 Fall 2014 | Jim Flanders Portfolio | Jim Flanders Personal Page
My name is Jim Flanders and I am a native of New York’s Capital District. After almost 20 years away, I recently returned to the area and currently live in Scotia.
I am in my last year of the TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) program at SUNY Albany and am currently student teaching at Albany High School. Previously, I served as a Judge Advocate in the Air Force JAG Corps; I earned my BA from St. Lawrence University and my JD from SUNY Buffalo.
While I enjoyed my Air Force career, I always felt teaching was better suited for me and was lucky enough to teach throughout my time in the Air Force. Most recently, I worked with students on long-term suspension for the Schenectady City School District.
I enjoy hiking, canoeing, cross country skiing and most outdoor activities. Additionally, I love to travel; the Air Force afforded me many opportunities to live in and visit places I never would have imagined I would see.
