About Me

I have been teaching ENL(English as a New Language) in an NYC high school for 9 years. Throughout my teaching career, I have had the opportunity to teach and observe English Language Learners (ELLs) in different class settings: including self-contained ENL, ICT, self contained SpEd ENL, co-teaching social studies & science, and integrated ELA & ENL. Before becoming a teacher, I used to work as an editor and publishing manager with a leading publisher and distributor of English learning materials in Taiwan.

I have an MS in TESOL and professional teaching licenses in both ENL and ELA. In addition, I am currently pursuing a second masters degree in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology at the University at Albany, for the purpose of broadening my horizon and sharpening my skills as an educator.

In addition to being a full time classroom teacher, I am also the bilingual coordinator at my school. My responsibilities include facilitating the intake process of new ELLs, conducting literacy assessments, analyzing ELL data, and helping content teachers of ELLs use literacy strategies in their classrooms to enhance learning.
