Overview and Purpose

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing numerous industries, and education is no exception. The course "Using AI to Transform Your Classroom" focuses on three key aspects of AI integration in education:

  • Personalized Learning
  • Streamlined Administrative Tasks
  • Adaptive Lessons and Student Engagement

Each aspect is divided into subcategories, ranging across a wide variety of applications. These strategies are expected to prepare educators to meet the demands of twenty-first-century teaching.

In this course, participants will have the opportunity to learn about AI tools and their applications, what they may look like implemented in the classroom, and how to overcome misconceptions. Not every educator feels confident with AI, but every educator can benefit from understanding its transformative potential. This course will expose participants to AI-driven teaching strategies and provide support with practical examples.

This topic is important because AI has the potential to revolutionize education by improving student outcomes, creating efficient learning environments, and enhancing teacher productivity. Many educators may not fully realize how AI can simplify their work and improve their teaching practices. Increasing awareness and confidence in AI will enable educators to embrace it as a supportive tool, ultimately fostering student success and better preparing them to thrive in an AI-driven world.

Needs Assessment

"Using AI to Transform Your Classroom" addresses key gaps in educators' knowledge, skills, and attitudes regarding AI integration in the classroom. Many educators lack an understanding of how AI tools can be practically applied to enhance personalized learning, streamline administrative tasks, and improve student engagement. Additionally, there is often a misconception that AI is too complex or irrelevant to everyday teaching. This course aims to build educators' confidence in using AI as a supportive tool, providing hands-on strategies and real-world applications to bridge these gaps. By the end of the course, participants will feel prepared to integrate AI effectively into their teaching practices and foster better student outcomes.
